what to expect...

We offer mobile services to allow your dog to be treated at home where they may feel more comfortable. Equally clinic visits are offered which may be quieter and more appropriate for your animal. Each appointment will start with an assessment, followed by physiotherapeutic treatment. A home exercise plan will be given to you to complete between physiotherapy sessions to optimise beneficial effects. Each element will be demonstrated to you to ensure you are confident with the exercise. Dependent on the case, time between appointments may vary from weekly, fortnightly or monthly which will be determined during the first visit

Would my dog benefit from physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy can be utilised for every dog including working dogs, companion animals and performance dogs. Some animals may not show any clinical symptoms and will benefit from the generalised effects of physiotherapy, whereas others may show signs that indicate they may need treatment:

 

  • Lameness, limping and/or stiffness

  • Behavioural changes

  • Pain reactions

  • Muscle wastage/ asymmetry

  • Post-surgical intervention

  • Reduced sporting performance

  • Reluctance to exercise, jump or get up

  • Excessive tripping or toe dragging

Conditions can arise at anytime within your pets life and it is integral that these are dealt with to reduce any pain or discomfort to improve your pets quality of life. Common conditions often addressed with physiotherapy can include:

  • Elbow and hip dysplasia

  • Intervertebral disc disease

  • Bicipital tenosynovitis

  • Spondylosis

  • Arthritis

  • Luxating patella

  • Cruciate disease

  • Post-surgical intervention

  • Soft tissue injury
